On July 1st 2010, the HST comes into effect through-out Ontario, and BC replacing the GST and PST.

Is your business ready for the HST?
You will need to update the GST and PST sales tax rates in your Tax table.
To help you prepare for this change, please follow the instructions below that will take you through this process step-by-step.

1. From TMS, Select Management -> System -> Tax
2. Make a note of your existing tax setup
3. Select Add New Tax
4. Enter HST for Tax1 Name
5. Enter 13 if in Ontario and 12 if in BC for HST
6. If charging Environmental tax, enter this on Tax3
7. Press Save. Press Apply to store
8. If you are using the latest TMS version 2.2.6K, you will be prompted to enter the Date that new tax will be in effect. Enter July 1 2010
9. On July 1, 2010, you will be prompted to apply New tax
If the above steps fail or you have an older TMS version follow the steps below on July 1 2010:
1. From Windows Start, Select CSI , Config Textile
2. Type 11182000yiyi for password
3. Select Setup Tax Table
4. Change your HST % to 13 or 12
5. Remove PST
6. Press Save

If you are using TMS to process credit cards through TPI or Pccharge, please read this important news. All merchants must be compliant by July 1, 2010. If you have not submitted your PCI questionnaire please do so ASAP. If you have any questions contact Metro Merchant Services.
Metro Merchant has sent out an email blast explaining their program for PCI compliance. They have partnered with Control Scan to handle their PCI Compliance. They will be working closely with Control Scan to get ALL our merchants compliant so they do not incur fines by the Associations for not being compliant.
TMS latest upgrade 2.2.6K is now released that has the following important upgrade related to PCI Compliance:
CVV# are not allowed to be saved any more for Credit Card On File customers. Saving CVV is against PCI Compliance and increases the risk of being fined by credit card companies. Saving CVV# does not save merchant any transaction fee. Instead new TMS upgrade uses AVS (Address Verification System) from Customers Billing address to save Merchant transaction fee.
Implemneted better encryption for credit card on file data.
Credit Card# are not saved in transaction table any more.
Allow to view Credit Card# only if associate is authorized.
Removing all CVV# from database upon upgrade.
